Sasha Allen can be described as the only openly transgender contestant to have been through the Battle Rounds of The Voice Live Shows. It has been the case over the course of 21 seasons. This Newtown, Conn. duo are now part of the top 8 of the contest! Sasha declared that he's transgender as part of the Blind Auditions package. He said to Parade.com it took some thought to make that decision. "That was a difficult choice to make as you are showing a very sensitive part of yourself in front of millions and millions individuals," said Sasha, who was transgender while in high school. "But the last week of Fan Week], watching how people's responses to the event and how it's affected those around you really demonstrated that this was a worthwhile decision and the right decision regardless of the fact that it was a hard one to make." "'Have You Ever Seen the Rain' is a song that has been among the songs that we've been wanting to be a part of the show for a really many years," Sasha told Parade.com. "We performed it long before The Voice was even a reality show for us. We received the song and we were thrilled. We had heard of the song and had ideas on how to structure it. Fans were awestruck."
