Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, jazz and soul in his distinctive style. She's performed on Broadway, during the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine has the name Denise White. While she is living in Atlanta now, Sunshine is originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she began her career as a musician, singing and playing at the church in town. The musical journey began for her in Atlanta in Spellman College. The band was hired as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her singing and her music, invited Sunshine to sing in the Dreamgirls show during the Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention during her four daily performances at the Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform in the Obama administration's inaugural in 2009.
